The maple sticks on the left are okay but look at the tight eyes on the three on the right! Definitely pen stock. I wonder if these are left from the days I used to turn pens by the hundred (literally) for a lumber company?

Mostly red oak cutoffs. I seem to recall that these are from the time uncle Alan was making coffee tables. They should make some nice laminations. Save.

From a blue plastic box marked "Carving." There are a saw vise (vice for the Brits), miscellaneous wood pieces, carving stand, unfinished carvings, finished carvings, and stuff.

A saw vise is just that, a device to hold a hand saw while you file it sharp.
|
|
The saw goes in the saw vise and the saw vise goes in the bench vise and off you go to work in single file.

Some nice 12 to 15 inch pieces of cocobolo for pens. Off to the pen blank box.
