Now that a homemade sanding disk holder has been made it is time to polish it up a bit for ultimate use on a wood turned bowl

Now the assembly is returned to the drill press and dressed with the rasp.

This leaves us with a clean sanding pad that should be a little smaller in diameter than the chosen sanding disks. I like 3" but opinions vary and it is easy to make different sizes for different occasions.

This now gives us a usable sanding pad with the sandpaper attached. It could be a bit smoother so...

use a sanding stick to put a bit better surface on it

Just to make it a bit more polished I return the sander to the drill press and use a sanding stick to put a bit better surface on it. The sanding stick is just a piece of wood with sandpaper glued to it.

The sanding stick is just a piece of wood with sandpaper glued to it but I was asked to post a picture and here it is. I turned a handle for it because I could. Different grits of paper can be glued to other sides. This one shows the effects of sanding blue foam rubber
